This is the plughole at the Ladybower Reservoir. Plugholes at reservoirs are large circular drains designed to control water levels and prevent flooding when the reservoir becomes too full.

    1. I would not be going that far down on rocks potentially made mossy and slippy by water run off.

      Very unnerving.

Absolutely crazy to be stepping dowen those levels when a small stumble could put you down that fucking big hole!

Nah man… Fuck that… That’s some otherworldly shit. Probably an opening to the black lodge or the astral plane.

I’d let my drone satisfy my curiosity here. And if I didn’t own one my fear would overcome my curiosity. Fits the sub well tho

    5. When it’s working, it’s mesmerising. Don’t watch it for more than a minute or your brain stops working.

    6. I met one of the early hydro engineers who had worked there in Bamford. I asked him how far down the ‘grate’ was and he said there isn’t one. It would just trap stuff. If you fall in you go all the way through the dam’s piping.
I now have a new nightmare.
